The book Charlie D. by William Falloon was the first time I heard mention of Charlie DiFrancesca but even when I arrived to the CBOT in the late 90s, people still spoke of Charlie D. in very high regard. The transcript of the video below is largely in the book under the chapter "God doesn't trade bonds" and I highly recommend the book.

I was "floored" to find that you posted this! When I started trading a few years back Charlie D was one of the first books that I read. His life was an inspiration to all to overcome hardship and live with integrity. Thanks a million for posting this.

Hy guys,I am writing a book on commodity trading also in Chicago of course. It's already in truth. Anybody knows an italian commodity trader or broker (pit, floor, globex, all)? I'd like to take an interwiew for my books about his experience. Maybe a new Charlie D...

Thanks a lot, friends!!!
Charlie D was a great guy. I was on the trading floor from 1982 to 1992 or thereabouts. He was always fair...determined but fair. Later, when he was going through treatments, you could see the physical effects on him such as the weight and hair loss but his spirit never wavered in the pit. He'd come in with a smile on his face ready to take on the market (and the other side of some montrous trades).
